7 Computer Tablets to Consider

There are great tablets out there, and the temptation to invest into a sleek, lightweight smart device is great. Let’s scratch the surface, shall we?

1. Apple iPad2

iPad. Need we say more? With 10 hours of battery life, it is fast, thin, light and just beautiful. Add an easy-to-use interface and vast app catalog that support Apple’s claim to being The King of tablets. At least for now.

Dual-core A5 chip, excellent graphics performance, dual camera, multi-touch technology. And iOS 4 (operating system for iPad2) lets you browse, read, and see everything just by touching the screen. It includes the built-in apps and access to over 65 thousand apps. And, apparently, iPhone can survive the 13,500 feet fall. A bit longer battery life would be awesome.

2. Toshiba Thrive

Just released, the Toshiba Thrive™ is a new Android 3.1 family member Tablet.  The Thrive™ tablet delivers a better way to browse the Web, play games, listen to music, enjoy e-books and HD videos and more.

Complete, convenient and customizable, it’s everything a tablet can and should be.

Featuring a 10.1″ High-resolution Multi-Touch LED Backlit display, features you can personalize, and speedy performance so you can multitask your way through your digitals.

3. Samsung Galaxy Tab

Fully loaded with Honeycomb 3.1, this thin, lightweight, great looking Google Experience tablet comes with 3megapixels camera and dual speakers. It weighs only 1.24lb, and has a 10.1″ screen (hence 10.1 in Galaxy 10.1?) 12800/800 px resolution.

There is no customizations to its interface; however, Samsung does include access to the company’s own application store. Great TV commercials, too.

4. Asus Eee Pad Transformer

The Asus Eee Pad Transformer is a low-price, quality Honeycomb tablet with useful options: NVIDIA® Tegra™ 2 1.0GHz dual-core CPU and 1080p video playback. Android 3.0 Honeycomb O.S. with Adobe® Flash® 10.2 support.

It features touchpad input with Polaris® Office® for mobile productivity, 16 hours long battery life with docking station, and IPS panel with ultra-wide 178? viewing angle made from scratch resistant glass.

5. BlackBerry PlayBook

The built-to-impress BlackBerry PlayBook showcases RIM’s powerful new mobile operating system. It is a bit on the smaller size, with high resolution 7″ multi-touch LCD display, dual HD cameras, 1 GB ram and lightweight design.

1 GHz dual core processor, up to 10 hours of battery life, the BlackBerry® PlayBook™ features new BlackBerry® Tablet OS, – for multi-taskers out there.

6. T-Mobile G-Slate

The T-Mobile G-Slate is one of the better Honeycomb tablets on the market today, with high-quality screen, streaming TV features, and 4G support. It requires the T-Mobile contract. It claims to perform at twice the speed of the iPad2 on AT&T and Verizon, and 3 times faster then Motorolla Zoom on Verizon.

G-Slate offers Rear-facing camera (for photo and video capture on the go), internal memory for apps, photos, and media.

7. Motorola Xoom

With 10.1-inch screen, front and rear cameras, HDMI output, a dual-core processor, and Google’s tablet-optimized version of Android, the Xoom is out there among the top tablets.

Super-tough Gorilla glass does not require screen protection, it is tv-ready and its Tegra2 Dual Core processor makes it super fast. It claimed to blow iPad out of the water… it is yet to live up to that claim.
