Wouldn’t it be great if there was just one button to click on when you need block annoying or sometimes malicious ads in your browser? In real life, we need to take several steps to do so. Don’t worry – if you use our simple step-by-step instructions for enabling pop-up blocker for major browsers the process is not complicated at all.

Enabling Pop-up Blocker in Google Chrome

  1. Choose the Google Chrome menu on the toolbar (three lines button at the top right of your browser.
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Click on “Show Advanced Settings”
  4. Go to “Privacy”
  5. Choose “Content settings” Tab
  6. Under “Pop-ups” set radio button to “Do not allow any site to show pop-ups (recommended)
  7. Add exceptions for known trustworthy sites with legitimate pop-ups by clicking on “Manage exceptions…” button
  8. Save a list of websites you don’t want your Chrome browser to block automatically.

Enabling Pop-up Blocker in Firefox

  1. Choose the Firefox menu on the toolbar (three lines button at the top right of your browser.)
  2. Go to “Options”
  3. Go to “Content”
  4. Select “Block popup windows” checkbox
  5. Add exceptions for known trustworthy sites with legitimate pop-ups by clicking on “Exceptions…” button
  6. Save a list of websites you don’t want your Firefox browser to block automatically.

Enabling Pop-up Blocker in Safari

  1. Choose the Safari menu on the toolbar (gear button at the top right of your browser.)
  2. Go to “Preferences”
  3. Choose “Security” tab
  4. Select “Block pop-up windows” checkbox. Note: Safari does not give you an option to have exceptions to this rule: it’s all or nothing for the pop-ups management.

Enabling Pop-up Blocker in Internet Explorer (IE)

  1. Choose the Firefox menu on the toolbar (gear button at the top right of your browser.)
  2. Go to “Internet Options”
  3. Go to “Privacy”
  4. Check “Turn on Pop-up Blocker” checkbox
  5. Add exceptions for known trustworthy sites with legitimate pop-ups by clicking on “Settings…” button
  6. Save a list of websites you don’t want your Internet Explorer browser to block automatically.

Enabling Pop-up Blocker on an Android Tablet

  1. Select the “Apps” button from the home screen.
  2. Click on “Browser”.
  3. Click on “Menu” button.
  4. Select “Settings”.
  5. Select “Advanced” from the Settings menu.
  6. Check “Block pop-ups” checkbox
