UK Healthcare Grapples With Surge in Hacking Incidents

The gang asserts that it has obtained 70 terabytes of sensitive data, declaring it the largest healthcare data breach in the UK. Which includes employee identification documents, including passports and driver’s licenses, and private emails labeled “confidential.

This incident is the second breach of NHS data in recent weeks. In June, hackers gained access to confidential patient information from 200 hospitals across the UK as part of a cyberattack on the University of Manchester. The now leaked data — gathered by the university for research purposes — includes NHS numbers and the first three letters of patients’ postcodes, according to reports.
