Update on : Millions of sites hosted on GoDaddy’s platform affected by Anonymous hack and Taken Down GoDaddy Hosted Websites Are Coming Back Up
It is reported by GoDaddy to be an internal issue. So Anonymous member who claimed responsibility and bragged about taking all of GoDaddy servers was possibly lying. Or GoDaddy is possibly covering up.
As announced at GoDaddy.com earlier today (after initial posting of this page):
Go Daddy Site Outage Investigation Completed …The service outage was not caused by external influences. It was not a “hack” and it was not a denial of service attack (DDoS). We have determined the service outage was due to a series of internal network events that corrupted router data tables. Once the issues were identified, we took corrective actions to restore services for our customers and GoDaddy.com. We have implemented measures to prevent this from occurring again. At no time was any customer data at risk or were any of our systems compromised….
In responce, @AnonymousOwn3r tweeted this afternoon pm today:
“whooa @godaddy is denying that it was hacked by me! don’t wanna show their security is bad or they would lose customers! “I think i will have to bring down http://www.godaddy.com again, so this way they would admit instead of hiding the attack.”
